Locked Out, Re-Keyed, but Got Pics Anyway :-)

Well, we have been officially locked out! Plus, our PM re-keyed the house, so the SR doesn't even have it! We need to coordinate with our PM or happen to be there while work is being done to get in, UGH!

BUT...we snuck around back and looked in the window and saw A LOT! Our wood and carpet in the family room and basement is in (a piece of the wood floor was slightly uncovered), AND our range and fridge were hanging out in the family room!! I wish we could have gone inside, but oh well. We decided to take a walk by the lake down the street while we waited for our townhouse showing.

We are even more excited to move, it is so beautiful in the new neighborhood! So many kids were out and it looks like a lot more people have moved in. When I was talking with movers they all knew our neighborhood because they had been there the past week!

Light Speed....

All the sudden this building process has gone from seemingly casual and steady to lightning fast.  We got word that our floors and carpet should be in by today and that the finish/punch list work will already begin next week.  On top of that, we received our settlement letter today, stating the times and dates of our final walk through and closing date.  Holy cow!  This stuff really sneaks up on you.

Elise and I have been working hard to get all the insurance, moving, utility and lending documentation together in the past few days.  My hunch is that RH is working even more feverishly with us because they want to unload the house before April 1.  Our closing date is March 29th.  I don't think they want it on their books for another month.  Whatever it takes!

We are so excited to finally be in a single family home.  We're almost there!

We also ordered window treatments from JCPenny and Walmart. EXCELLENT price! We are hoping they look good and fit! We have a lot of windows to cover so we tried to keep costs down!!

We Got Our Settlement Date!

Looks like we will be closing March 29th!! As long as everything moves smoothly of course :-)

We can't believe it, the end of this month! Absolutely wild. I think we need to change our countdown clock!

We are hoping that one of the showings we have had in the past few days turns into an offer on our current house so we can move on (and we get an offer for the amount we need!). Crossing our fingers, toes, and anything else that can be crossed!

Granite!! And more...

Our granite is in and on! Most is covered by blue plastic, but we could see the tops and are excited for when it will be "revealed." We also have a walkway from the garage to the front door and outside lights. While we were there, they were putting in the recessed lights and the chandelier and prepping for the shared driveway to be poured. So... more pics coming soon! This will be a big week coming up! Cannot WAIT to see the hardwood and carpet!!

Update from our PM

We really must be in the home stretch!

We found out that this week our concrete walkway from the garage to our front door will be laid (was delayed due to rain) and the asphalt for the shared driveway should be poured any day now!

But NEXT WEEK... our hardwood floors and carpet are going in!! WOOHOO!!! My guess is the granite is coming also. When I peeked in yesterday there was a piece of paper saying the granite inspection was done on the cabinets. I guess they want to make sure the granite won't crush it!

It's gettin' real! So exciting! Hopefully we will have some pictures this week or next week of some serious progress!
